The everlasting dream ....

Today is Monday, a starting working day in the week. Normaly people rush to the office earlier than in other working days. Having known this situation I start my commuting activities at 05.00 AM, driving my car toward my office. Thanks God, in these days the Subuh time is at 04.05 AM so that I still have an ample time to prepare everything before began driving.

Like a shadow: Exists, but unheed...

What happened if you feel that you are working hard but no additional reward is granted for you? You are working there in the corner, in front of computer screen, typing your work, printing it somewhere else and preparing them for your superintendent. When everyone is assigned to a work outside town and you are left alone at you chair, do you think you are still not affected?

Un-balanced Attitude

The above title is derived from my own experience. It is not an happy experience, though. That is why I post it out. According a popular jargon in marketing (and psychology of course) bad experience creates 10 miltipliers, while good one proposes only one-two multipliers. I wrote this article because I cannot forget how hurted I am, due to this experience.

There are some friends who always ask for help from me when they are stuck with the problem. But when I ask for the same favour, they reply diferently. The recent case is about shifting from a job in one office to another one. It is not an easy work, since there are some figures to contact with, and some position holders to be assured with about the people you want to recommend.

Now those friends who seeked help from me already moved to the designated place.  Their job is lighter, but the income coming into their pocket is higher than the old place. The working situtation is also far better than before. Their smile is everywhere, in Blackberry massanger contact, in facebook, twitter and so on.

Then comes one day when I need their help, in turn. My younger sister needs badly for a job, since her husband lost his job. They have a baby to feed and need a hard cash to afford their life. Having seen their suffering I then went to those people whom I have already gave a hand. They agree to help but they insist that a formal prochedure should be taken. Then my sister underwent all the prochedures. And failed.

I was shocked. Those friends was begging to me like poor men on the street, pretended as if they would die if I did not do a favour for them. When comes my turn they pretend as if they do not know me and everything should be done according to the formal prochedure? What a shame.....

Never do I forget you friends, for this humiliation...

Le Rue est mort, Viva le Rue!!!

Since 1st Mei 2010 our office seems brighter than before. Why?
Because our director whose character is authoritarian like a king, starts his long leave which will end at the beginning of June. It is no coincidence that the first of June is his starting day to retire.
During his directorship from early 2008 we feel as if we lived in New Order Era. No one dare to challange his decision, eventhough that many times his choice was proven as a big mistake. There are many victims of his mismanagement of our directorate. Having managed the office like his own property he brutally can deprive any right of employee to promote to a higher rank (like myself) or to cancel any empolyee departure abroad.
Many people call him as Firaun (Pharaoh) due to his authoritarian style. But the call then changes.  Many people think that since his face always smiles eventhough his heart is full with dirty feud,  people then call him as Angel and Demon, Angel face with Demon heart. Today I myself call him Ramses, the Pharaoh who chased Moses to the Ocean and died of sunk.

Now he is gone. We shout up like what France people did when Louis XVI died. It is like what I wrote above, which means: "The King is dead, Long live the King!!!"

Cycling in Bekasi, is it safe?

It has been already one year that I started using bicycle to office. People call it "B2W", which stands for bike to work, a new phenomenon among the city dweller who uses bicycle from his home to work place. They do it mostly based on the awareness of reducing air pollution from vehicle exhaust, a part of campaign to keep environment green and healthy.

From Yogya with Hurt

It is long week end  vacation, 26-28 February 2010, due to commemoration of Maulid Nabi SAW. Alhamdulillah. But I was unexpectedly assigned to go to Yogya, replacing big boss, who already promised to students' association, called Forum Mahasiswa Shariah se Indonesia, that he will deliver a speech about Islamic banking, in their annual camp. This assignment, ofcourse,  leaves my family and wondering; why I should go, when everyone spend their vacation at home, or when everyone will gather for Maulid celebration in pur "pondok" almamater. I shrugged off. That is a work consequence. That is choice of life. I wish I had other choice...
